Privacy Policy

OK Auto Search is operated by Oncro Corp., which is responsible for the personal information collected through it. This policy explains how we handle personal information under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. Questions, access or deletion requests go to our privacy contact at hello@okautosearch.com.
Searching and browsing
No account is needed. We record what was searched for (for example “AWD SUV under $30,000 near Vernon”) and how many vehicles matched, so we know which vehicles Okanagan buyers want. These records contain no names, email addresses or IP addresses. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Saved vehicles are kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
CarWatch
If you turn on a CarWatch, we keep your email address, what you asked us to watch for, and the date you consented. We use them only to email you matching vehicles. Every email has a link to pause or delete your CarWatch, and deleting it removes your email address from our list.
Messaging a seller
When you message a seller, we store your name, email, optional phone number and message, and share them with that seller only (for dealer listings, with the dealership’s sales team) so they can reply. We keep messages so the seller can see them on their private listing page.
Listing a vehicle
We store your vehicle details, photos, first name, email, optional phone number and town. Your public listing shows the vehicle, its photos, the price and your town; your name, email and phone are never shown. Buyer messages are forwarded to your email and shown on your private listing page.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent personal information. We use a small number of service providers to run the site, who may store information outside Canada (including in the United States and the European Union), where it may be subject to local law:
- Railway: website hosting and database;
- Brevo: sending email (CarWatch alerts, buyer messages, listing links).
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to investigate fraud or a listing reported as a scam.
How long we keep it
- Private listings and their messages: until 12 months after the listing ends, then deleted.
- CarWatches: until you delete them.
- Copies of emails we sent: 90 days.
- Anonymous search records: kept, as they identify no one.
Your choices
You can pause or delete a CarWatch, and mark a listing sold, from the links in our emails. If you’ve lost them, we’ll resend them. To see, correct or delete anything else we hold about you, email hello@okautosearch.com and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, private links use long random codes, and access to the database is limited to the people who run the site. No system is perfectly secure, so never send payment details through the site.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above. Significant changes will be shown on the site before they take effect.
